Frequently Asked Questions

You might experience hypnosis differently than the next person. It is a subtle state of focused awareness which leaves you feeling relaxed, refreshed and open to change. It’s an enjoyable experience that feels similar to being lost in thought. You are always aware and in full control.

Yes, because it’s a natural, normal state that we all enter at least twice each day – waking up and falling asleep. A similar state to hypnosis is when daydreaming, meditating or driving past somewhere on the road “automatically” without remembering.

Everyone can be hypnotised because it’s a natural state, so you don’t need to worry. This is about team-work and for sessions to be really successful, it helps that clients want to participate and make the change. So, as long as you wish to enter hypnosis, you will. So just relax and enjoy the experience.

RTT includes regressions back to scenes of the past, as it is helps us to locate the root cause or belief, sitting behind an issue. Regression is not about re-living the experience, it’s about reviewing and observing a scene, so we can make sense of the significance, relevance and meaning attributed to it. Some scenes may bring up sadness, upset or joy, but whatever happens, as the adult, you will feel completely safe as you observe.

Regression – going back to a past scene or event or memory that is attached to your issue is a necessary tool in your RTT session as it helps identify the route cause. It is only when we work to address the route cause that transformative change can happen in your thinking and belief system. It is important to always keep in mind that whatever comes up during a session is simply a representation of a past event. We are just reviewing scenes from your life and no reliving the negative emotional experience from the past.

An RTT session with me takes between 2 – 2.5 hours each. Within the session, we will go through the entire process of identifying the unhealthy patterns, regression, understanding the route cause, as well as well as transforming them into healthy beliefs for the future. Part of the session includes your customised Transformation Recording, which you then get to take away with you to listen to for 21 days after your session.

Yes! It just as effective online as it is in person. Actually, most clients say they feel more comfortable and relaxed in their own homes and love how easy and accessible it has become. You may also find you are tired after your RTT session, and clients love they don’t have to travel home after but can just make themselves comfortable right away and relax after their session in the comfort of their own home.  Online fits around people’s busy lives, the comfort of their own location and clients enjoy the freedom that this affords.

Wherever there is internet we can hold a session and the outcomes are equally as deep-seated and profound. I have worked with people locally and internationally on-line, including Ireland, USA, and Europe and RTT never fails. See my Testimonials for details.

Clients generally feel comfortable and relaxed during the sessions. There is nothing to be frightened of as it’s a completely natural state of calmness. Sometimes, scenes may be emotional, but you are not reliving anything, merely reviewing them with the support of the therapist.

Clients react in different ways following the session, depending on what comes up and what was being worked on. Change is retroactive, subtle and is not always ‘instant’. However, some clients leave feeling euphoric and some leave feeling a sense of reflection or wonder. Either way, the effect takes time to ‘soak in’ as you continue to discover more about yourself and as you listen to your post-session recording. Irrespective of how you feel, there will be post-session follow up and you will be able to make contact and talk.

RTT is hugely effective and is growing in popularity because of its life-changing effects. RTT is ground-breaking. It’s a hybrid technology, taking and improving upon many previous techniques, and combining them in a single methodology. It is a simple, safe, natural and proven approach. Some GP’s are now using and endorsing it.

There is a confidentiality policy in place. All clients are assured of confidentiality about any disclosed material, in accordance with professional codes of conduct. Safeguarding policies are also in place for the protection of children and vulnerable adults. Only in cases where clients’ welfare are deemed “at risk” might it be necessary to contact the relevant authorities and usually with consent of the client. However, in normal cases, client confidentiality is upheld, files are stored appropriately and destroyed according to the appropriate laws.

No, the follow-up sessions with me are included in the session fee and gives clients the opportunity to feedback on how they are feeling, ask questions and look at other areas of future development.

If you don’t want to talk about something then you don’t have to. Occasionally clients uncover something they feel uncomfortable sharing and this is respected during the session and we can often work around the intimate details of a scene, without having to disclose everything. It is my role as your therapist to ensure that your RTT session provided you with a safe and trusted space and experience.

RTT is very effective for all age ranges, adults and children alike. The appropriate DBS checks are in place and children under 18 can be considered on a case-by-case basis, although it should be noted that a client’s prioritised ‘issue’ may sometimes differ from the adult (often the parent).  Regression is not used until a child is a teenager.

Most traditional hypnotherapy will take between 6-12 sessions to reach a desired outcome. Many talking therapies will take considerably longer, with clients reporting periods anywhere between 12 weeks and 6 years and thousands of pounds. With RTT, most clients see results after their first session, and a programme 3 sessions builds to embed the transformation particularly for for complex cases. Often, clients may choose to return to use RTT work on new areas to improve their lives, such as relationships or self-esteem Once we release what’s holding us back and have the power to remove blocks, things just get better and better!
